Today, the world looks to pristine lands to preserve as places of sanctuary and sustainability. Through a year’s global prayer efforts and launching the ONEDOLLARFULL Campaign in 2010, the Whirling Rainbow Foundation helped preserve one of the Alaska’s most fertile and pristine lands, a 180-acre parcel in the glacier-carved Matanuska Valley. Surrounded by the majestic Talkeetna and Chugach Mountains, it is a place of stunning beauty, rich with golden farm fields, a river carved canyon, diverse wildlife, medicinal plants and berries, and old-growth trees. These lands are now a sanctuary for the rare musk ox who live there.

As the highest facility in Homer, at 1550 ft on Lookout Mountain, The Whirling Rainbow Center offers breathtaking panoramic views of the snowcapped volcanoes of Mt. Douglas, Mt. Augustine, Mt. Iliamna and Mt. Redoubt, as well as Kachemak Bay, Cook Inlet, numerous glaciers and rolling hills of spectacular fireweed. There are over 40 km of hiking and skiing trails adjacent to the center as well as cabin and tent accommodations. In addition to providing you with a full service Alaskan style facility, you will be wrapped in the deep silence of the surrounding wilderness where you can regularly view our neighbor moose, wolves, bear, marten, cranes, eagles, hawks and more!
