Beyond Legendary, our beloved Advisory Board Member, Community DrumKeeper, Blue Flame GP Leader and rock star massage teacher and therapist, Tarika Kai Lea took her Spirit Wings on July 5, 2021 at the age of 75 in the hands of her sister Carol and myself. What we all witnessed was a miraculous, spell bounding, loving and conscious death and rebirth of her amazing soul and Spirit. Tarika left a rich legacy of love for thousands of bodies and hearts around the world. Though no one can fill the enormous gap of her outstanding and generous love, pioneering service, creativity and countless talents and gifts, her family and inner circle are all moving forward to carry TARIKA’S LEGACY forward with plans to release her drumming books, her massage videos, audios, massage school offerings, poetry, photography, card decks and so much more!!! In those final months and days, Tarika kept loving us and inspiring us to drop our stories, live total and full of gratitude in each moment as well as die in each moment to the spiritually new and unknown horizons . In her own words, two days before she took flight…
“I feel so much joy, privilege and celebration. I feel a wave coming upon the shore and that at this time that wave is at one of its greatest peaks as so many are transitioning their bodies. It’s like the hundredth monkey. As that number reaches a certain number of those that have transcend consciously, the awakening of those that came indeed to make use of Gaia as their spiritual lift off to greater creations, that indeed will not only manifest but be sustained for the next generation of seekers and inquirers. So from every direction I feel the breath, including the very Heart of the consciousness we call Planet Earth. With every breath of every living being, ever rock, I feel the connectedness weaving a new tale and new levels of expression, into the luminous evolution and the privilege of being embodied at this time and being part of that BRIDGING from this body to the next and how I most clearly can clarify by letting go of my stories and enjoying the ride, enjoying this season of a world holding hands. And I mean all life holding hands in this symphony. Ahhh, this orchestration, ahhhh the beauty of the songs, the beauty of touching the heavens with the angels, (ah ha ha). Going past appearances and relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. My deep gratitude (ahhhh). Tarika’s Celebration of Life events were kicked off on 8-8-21 with the Global Drum For Change events held in over 70 countries with over 20,000 participating! Live Community Celebrations were also held in Fairbanks, Alaska ( August 13th) and in Bend, Oregon with her core tribes. More Celebrations of Life are continuing this fall.
